Late Shri Baliram Kashyap Memorial NDMC Govt Medical College
Government Medical College Jagdalpur Chhattisgarh India, now known as Late Baliram Kashyap Memorial Government Medical College, Jagdalpur Chhattisgarh, India, located at Dimrapal 09 Km away form Jagdalpur towards Dantewada, was established with outstanding efforts of the Directorate of Medical Education in 2006. This was an effort made to introduce excellence in health care facilities for the people of Bastar division. The College is associated with the historical Maharani Hospital established in memory of Maharani Praffula Kumari Devi in1936. Maharani Hospital is the only hope for health care in Jagdalpur and Bastar division since 1936. Government Medical College Jagdalpur is a dream project of the honorable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Dr Raman Singh, who also graced the inaugural ceremony of the institution on 28th August 2006. He also took the first lecture for the first batch of the institution.
Jagdalpur is the functioning head quarter of Bastar Division. National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has provided remarkable contribution towards development of the Medical College and Hospital.
The Institution proved to be a milestone in endowment of basic and advanced health care in Bastar division as it happens to be the only tertiary health care centre in a radius of 300 kilometers. The institution has received an enthusiastic reception from public. We are committed to provide basic as well as advanced health care with sincerity and excellence and establish the institution as an expendable tertiary health care center. The institution has received tremendous support from Political leaders, local administrative officers and most importantly the people of the division. The institute is thankful to all for their outstanding support.
Government Medical College Jagdalpur was affiliated to Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur Chhattisgarh since the year of its inception. Government Medical College Jagdalpur was renamed as Late Baliram Kashyap Memorial Government Medical College in the year 2013 in memory of honorable leader Lt. Baliram Kashyap. Since 2008 the college is affiliated with Ayush and Health Sciences University Raipur Chhattisgarh.
The institute’s Pioneer batch of 2006 and all the students of subsequent batches have gained knowledge and experience from our institution. The institution is proud to provide good doctors to the society. Students of this institute have achieved remarkable success in university professional examination as well as post graduate entrance examination.
