K J Somaiya Medical College is a medical college in the heart of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The college was founded by Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya. It has 50 undergraduate seats for MBBS course.
KJ Somaiyya Medical College and Research Centre was founded in the year 1991 by Padmabhushan (late) Pujya Shri.Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a visionary. He was a self made man, wealthy yet simple, humble and compassionate, who dedicated his life to the service of mankind. He was committed to the ideal of “ What you receive from society, give back multifold ”. For relieving the sufferings of patients, he established Somaiya Medical College and Hospital in 1991, the manifestation and realization of his vision. The sapling of medical college and hospital has grown over the years with addition of School of Nursing and College of Physiotherapy. KJ Somaiya Medical College & Research Centre is located off the Eastern Express Highway between Sion (C.Rly.) and Chunabhatti (Harbour Rly.) and can be reached from both the stations, but the location is isolated and ricks are difficult to find. A number buses from all parts of the city can drop you near the college as well.
